The University of South Florida women’s basketball team pushed its winning streak to four games Wednesday, coming back to defeat Central Michigan, 86-80, in overtime at the Great Alaskan Shootout in Anchorage.
Kaneisha Saunders led the Bulls (4-2) with 23 points, 18 of which came in the second half or overtime. Andrell Smith added 15 points, which included two big free throws with 0.4 seconds left in regulation to force overtime after she was fouled while attempting a 3-pointer, and a big 3-pointer in overtime that put the Bulls ahead for good.
Jasmine Wynne and Shalethia Stringfield each added 11 points for the Bulls, who will play No. 9 Miami on Thursday.
