They might as well hold this bash in a phone booth.

Hmmm…..doubt that Duane. Warren can’t fit in a phone booth if it is just him. Again…why the hate. Gotta love 99. Props to hold an event like this in Tampa with proceeds for the Cancer Center. Again proof, Warren is a class act. Always hear the haters because he wouldn’t sign an autograph while he was out for dinner. Wow, I just brushed someone for approaching me about biz on my day off too. Guess I have joined the scum bums. Albeit…good company with number 99. Thanks WS for the lombardi trophy, the memories, and awesome quotes.

I wonder what could have been if Sapp, Lynch and others were not run off by you know who!!!! We still have not replaced either of them!! God speed to all of you run a ways!!!
Suggest removalPor (Cameron Simms) on June 25, 2008 (Suggest removal)
He’s not a class act..remember the cheap shot he took on that OL from green bay a couple of years ago???
Suggest removalBesides they all needed to go sapp, lynch were done maybe 1 year before they got the boot from the bucs. I’m not a gruden/allen fan but even i could see back then that they were draggin A$s. On the other hand Lynch Is a class act so maybe sapp can learn a thing or two from him.

He was an exceptional DL. He was a real ##### of a human being. Now he’s not a DL. So what’s left of him?
Suggest removalPor (Steven Small) on June 25, 2008 (Suggest removal)
Warren Sapp was the best under tackle I have ever seen. You hear a lot of whining from the Saints fans. If you like the Lombardy trophy in Tampa, you should thank #99. He is on his way to the HOF. Any ways, best of luck to #99.

All this Sapp hating is making me sick. Warren Sapp was the Bucs’ identity during their first turnaround season in 1997. While everyone else folded in our playoff game at Green Bay and seemed to be intimidated, Sapp played the best game of his life and kept us in that game. How soon you morons forget. He did more to turn around Tampa than anyone except Dungy. Remember that.

I remember that classic game when the ‘49ers came to town(I think in ‘97), and the D was just starting to make its name. Sapp ran down both Steve Young and Jerry Rice from behind! Nobody could possibly expect a d-tackle to be that quick. Thank you 99 for being a big reason why Tampa Bay has a Super Bowl title!

as a person he wasnt the kindest..but when he was on the field he was unstoppable..he deserves to get alot of credit for the turn around of this defense/team…he did have alot of memorable moments that i will never forget…thanks sapp…

Stop giving Dungy credit for something that Wyche created. That’s right I said it! Wyche drafted Sapp, Brooks and Lynch and should be the one praised for his excellent drafting to from the nucleus of one of the NFL’s greatest defensive runs (10 years!) And, in case you didn’t read his interview in the Times Kinzer, Kiffin ran Sapp off (really a salary cap issue) you bozo, so get your facts straight. The greatest DT ever and he still cares about the kids Gagne (so there goes your hatorade argument!) GO BUCS!!! Kiffin at it again in 2008!!!

Well said Skylar, and furthermore to Cameron Simms: that hit was not considered a cheap shot by the likes of Howie Long and Dick Butkus, only puss!es like you who never played the game. It was a CLEAN HIT that was devastating indeed. That’s where the term “keep your head on a swivel” comes from! No flags were thrown for a reason. Besides, as far as you and I know Clifton may have been pinching under the pile all game and had it coming. Nonetheless, it wasn’t a cheap shot as reviewed by the NFL head office and anyone else who has played the game. Those are the facts!

As to the cheap shot on Chilton (Green Bay), block was legal and ball was still in play. Yes, unfortunate he was hurt and Sapp regretted the hit after tape revealed it had no impact on the play. But hindsight is 20-20. It was legit and what any dl is taught to do when a db returning a pick….BLOCK!

Stop the Bashing! I am a season ticket holder from day 1. Love John Lynch- Class Act on and off the field. Loved Warren Sapp on the field.. Always got the energy level up and exicited the fans. Yes I saw him chase down Jerry Rice. These 2 players gave us the best of their football years. Yes- and I love Sam Wyche- Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden !

Warren, best of luck in retirement. I will always remember your post-game interviews! You are Buc royalty along with many others. Enjoy!

I’m fairly surprised by the number of Bucs Fans who don’t know the difference between great players ON the field and the personal lives of players off the field, (including autographs he didn’t sign or want to sign.) Whatever Saap is or does OFF the field, is his own business. As to you who judge his personal life: “Let he among you without sin cast the first stone.” He’ll be having another party in a few years, celebrating his induction into the Hall of Fame; and rightfully so. I’ll be at that one!!! Thanks Warren Saap for helping the Bucs get to and win the Super Bowl. I wish you only the best in your retirement.

Warren Sapp was the Best. like it , Love it, he Is HOA bound. Good luck to the greast to ever play that postion.
Suggest removalPor (WilliamL) on June 27, 2008 (Suggest removal)
Whatever he was off the field, he was a baller on the field. Bucs fans owe him a lot of gratitude for that, and his enormous contribution to our SB win. He played at full tilt until the whistle blew, something that Clifton didn’t do and that’s why he got hurt. Was it a cheap shot on Caddy that ended his season? No. It’s a physical game and people unfortunately get hurt. If you don’t like Sapp personally, fine. That’s your business. Just as his personal life is his business. But you can’t deny the beast that was #99. We have missed him since he left and it may be a long time until we see a DT of his caliber again. Enjoy your retirement, Sapp. You’ve earned it.

i like how Sapp played ,i did not like his attitude every where else .you are in the spotlight and should conduct yourself with enough class when in public, however with that said don’t know him personally so i really don’t care.john lynch is a all around classy person on and off the field by all reports,i do miss him in the safety spot.

Who is Steve Duemig? And who cares? Never heard of him and I know a little about the game. Bring on the season. Getting bored with pansy sports.

I grew up in Tampa. I remember the cream-cicle days of the 1970’s and 80’s. I watched the super-bowl season up here in Connecticut and it was so wonderful to see the bucs win a superbowl in my lifetime thanks to Warren Sapp, Derek Brooks, John Lynch, Kennan McCardell, Mike Alstott, Mike Pittman, Johnson & Johnson, Jo Jo Jurevicious, Dex Jax and the rest of that class. Thank you Warren. Enjoy the retirement and look forward so seeing you in the booth.

Conrats Warren you are the greatest! Good luck in your retirement also.
Sam W. was the one that drafted Warren,Brooks and Lynch. So credit should go to him for starting the turn around. GO WARREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
