The New Orleans Saints have signed Tampa Bay defensive lineman Tim McGill.
McGill, who had a breakout season with the Storm in 2008 and was voted the team’s defensive player of the year, becomes the seventh defensive tackle in training camp with the Saints, according to the Storm’s media relations department.
McGill, an All-Arena second team selection in 2008, signed a two-year contract extension with Tampa Bay during the season that will keep him with the Storm through 2010. McGill will be placed on the Other League Exempt list, which means the Storm still own his rights in the AFL but he will not count against Tampa Bay’s roster limit.
