Ruggiano designated for assignment to make room for Peña

ROGER MOONEY
The Rays designated OF Justin Ruggiano for assignment Tuesday afternoon to clear room on the 40-man roster for 1B Carlos Peña.
Ruggiano was DFA’d last February to clear room when the Rays added Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez. He cleared waivers and accepted an assignment to Triple A Durham.
