TAMPA - The Rowdies announced Tuesday the acquisition of MLS defender Justin Morrow on loan for the rest of the season from San Jose.

Morrow, who played collegiality at the University of Notre Dame helping lead the Irish to four NCAA appearances, was drafted in the second round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft and made his professional debut April 14, 2010 against Real Salt Lake.

Morrow will join a defense that has seen its share of struggles of late as FC Tampa Bay is winless (0-2-5) in its last seven matches and has allowed an average of more that two goals per game.

The Rowdies next match is away against the Rochester Rhinos on Saturday at 7 p.m.

It’s good to see something new posted to the Rowdies Report! Will you be posting to the blog on a regular basis, Jarrett?

As for the roster move, I’m glad that the Rowdies have taken advantage of loans from MLS clubs. It really is a win-win for both sides. We have been able to see Josh Lambo, Andre Akpan, Mykel Galindo and soon Morrow suit up for the team this season.

These aren’t household names, but they very well could be in the future. Let’s hope Morrow can get the job done on the backline!

Brandon, i guess the lack of response says how much time Jarret is going to be spending covering the Rowdies, we got spoiled by Nick Murray!
