Plant coach Robert Weiner cringes at the thought of having to game plan against his defense.

As an offensive coordinator, Weiner knows how difficult it would be to prepare for the Panthers defense, one that has collected 43 sacks, led by James Wilder, Jr.’s 16 sacks effort, and helped limit opponents to an average of 11.3 points this season.
Those staggering statistics are what Alonso quarterback C.J. Bennett has to look forward to in his team’s rematch against Plant Friday night, but the Wyoming commit is up to the challenge. In the Ravens come-from-behind victory against Newsome last week, Bennett threw six touchdown passes, one shy of the state playoff record set by Tim Tebow in 2004.

“In a game against a team that you’ve beaten by a lot of points the first time around, it’s a scary game to go into because you know that the explosiveness of what [C.J.] can do is still there,” Weiner said. “We happened to make more plays than they did the last time around, but you know that the potential for them is still out there.
“I’ve watched C.J. for a long time and he knows I have tremendous respect for him and the kind of player he is.”
