Robinson senior wrestler Nick Caverly, a state qualifier this season at 145 pounds, has signed a scholarship with NAIA school Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, Knight coach Tommy Montero announced Tuesday.

Caverly was a four-year member of Robinson’s varsity squad and this season reached the state finals after taking third place in his weight class at both the district and regional meet. Montero said besides being one of his top wrestlers this season, Caverly is also a standout student at Robinson, carrying a grade point average of 3.7.

Briar Cliff University is a private, Franciscan Roman Catholic liberal arts university.
