Robinson freshman forward Justin Madison scored a career-high 19 points, including the game-winning basket with 20 seconds remaining, to lead the Knights to a 46-44 victory over Jesuit on Friday. The basket with 20 seconds left was Madison’s second game winner.
“if he keeps working hard, he has a very bright future ahead of him,” Robinson coach Steve Smith said.
Robinson (8-7) hasn’t had a winning season since the 2005-2006 season, when the team finished 14-10 overall. Madison is the team’s second leading scorer with 10.0 points per game and second leading rebounder with 8.6 per game.
Meanwhile, Citrus Park Christian senior Brandon Hagarty scored his 1,000th career point during his team’s 69-60 win over Keswick Christian on Saturday. Hagarty finished the game with 15 points and leads the team with 14.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
