Riverview junior Faith Woodard needed 12 points to reach the 1,000-point milestone. She got those and then some.
Woodard scored 30 points in the Sharks 78-35 victory against Newsome Wednesday night. The season high put Woodard well over the 1,000 point mark and helped her team improve to 7-0.
Because the game was away, Sharks coach Lelani Gordon said the team will honor Woodard, Riverview’s leading scorer, during Friday’s district game against Tampa Bay Tech.
