River Ridge junior infielder and pitcher Morgan Tolle has verbally committed to playing softball for James Madison, Royal Knights coach Ernie Beck said Wednesday afternoon.
“She was really happy about making this decision,” Beck said. “I think it’s a relief for her. I don’t think it will bother her game.”
Last season, Tolle batted .404, scored 32 runs, knocked in 26 RBIs, belted four home runs and hit five triples. As a pitcher, Tolle was very effective and posted a record of 7-3, had a 1.80 earned run average and struckout 25.
James Madison is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and the Dukes went 30-26 in softball last season.
