Baldelli update + lineups

Rocco Baldelli’s hamstring is “a little tight” according to Maddon, who said it would probably be a couple of days. Rocco is out on the field throwing as I type and seems to be moving around fine.
Also, LHP Jeff Ridgway was optioned to Durham today, leaving 40 players in camp.
Update: Rocco did some jogging after playing catch and reported that he’s taking a wait-and-see stance at this point.
“It’s still tight,” he said. “I’m going to take it day-by-day, and that’s pretty much the way we’re going to attack this thing.”
How does it feel compared to yesterday?
“It’s kind of in the middle of the road,” he said. “It doesn’t feel terribly worse than it did yesterday, but it doesn’t feel remarkably, miraculously better. It’s pretty much even ground.”
As for the overall prognosis…
“I don’t think I’m going to be playing for at least a couple days. I’m going to let it subside and see what it’s going to do.”
Before I hit the road for Kissimmee, the Rays’ lineup:
Carl Crawford LF
Ben Zobrist SS
Ty Wigginton 1B
Delmon Young RF
Akinori Iwamura 3B
B.J. Upton 2B
Elijah Dukes CF
Shawn Riggans C
James Shields P
And the Astros’:
Craig Biggio 2B
Adam Everett SS
Lance Berkman 1B
Carlos Lee LF
Morgan Ensberg 3B
Luke Scott RF
Chris Burke CF
Brad Ausmus C
Woody Williams P

I’m having trouble warming up to the fact that Greg Norton is our solution at cleanup; that Upton is expected to make offensive strides because he won’t be permitted to get comfortable at any one defensive slot; that Cantu’s fall from grace has been so dramatic, he could be playing games in NC come April (ditto, Gomes); that Crawford will hit third…errr, second…errrrrrr, first; that Maddon is legitimately going to task Shawn Camp—A ROYALS castoff—with getting Abreu, JD Drew, Overbay, Aubrey Huff, and any other left hander in the AL East, out, on a regular basis; that $35 million in revenue sharing has resulted in a slap-hitting Japanese third baseman and a fresh coat of paint in the Trop’s bathrooms; and on, and on…

Another night with a line up full of regulars and another blow out victory. I really wish more of these spring games were televised so that the casual fans in the area can see just how good this team will be. Great pitching again tonight. Even Mcclung pitched well. His last 2 outings have been fantastic. My only question is when do playoff tickets go on sale? Go Rays!

Oh my God Trey it was bad enough to read your down beat story once but twice, I don’t think so. Get with the program. There is always someone to spoil the fun. Maddon has done a great job and so has the team. If we win 90 games some will say that we are not good enough to win the whole thing. We need upbeat support so come to the games and support.
