The Rays will see a different looking Red Sox lineup tonight in Game 4 of the ALCS.
Boston manager Terry Francona will bat J.D. Drew in the lead-off spot in place of Jacoby Ellsbury, who is 0-for-14 in the series. Drew will play right field, and with a right-hander on the mound for the Rays in Andy Sonnanstine, switch hitter Coco Crisp will take Ellsbury’s center field spot and bat seventh.
Drew has batted in the leadoff spot eight times this syear and is 5-for-29 with 10 walks from that spot. Ellsbury doesn’t even have a walk in the series, although he did drive in the Sox only run in Tampa Bay’s 9-1 win Monday night with a sacrifice fly.
Here is the Red Sox’ lineup:
Drew, RF
Pedroia, 2B
Ortiz, DH
Youkilis, 3B
Bay, LF
Kotsay, 1B
Crisp, CF
Cash, C
Lowrie, SS
(Wakefield, RHP)
