Jason Bay’s two-out double drove in two runs and Rays starter Scott Kazmir labored through a 38-pitch first inning as the Red Sox took a quick 2-0 lead in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series tonight at Tropicana Field.
Bay’s double to the base of the left field wall scored David Ortiz, who walked, and Kevin Youkilis, who singled. Kazmir also walked Jed Lowrie before striking out Jason Varitek to end the top of the first. The half-inning lasted nearly 20 minutes.
