NEW YORK The lost a game they couldn’t afford to lose this afternoon, not with CC Sabathia going to the Yankees tonight and Josh Beckett pitching for the Red Sox in Boston.
The Rays will try to bounce back from this afternoon’s 4-2 loss with Jeremy Hellickson on the mound and Ben Zobrist back in the lineup.
“We win this game tonight and (the afternoon loss) is not that awful,” manager Joe Maddon said. “But we pretty much are in a position where we need to win this game tonight.”

Moore is looking sensational tonight. Could it be no scouting report ? Jeter with 2 errors ? I’d hate to think that now that they clinched ,the Yankees aren’t given it there all. Regardless,where was all this run support in the last 3 games ? Regardless. I will support the Rays and go to at least two more home games. Go Rays ! Boo Angels !
