ST. PETERSBURG The Rays look to make it three-straight wins tonight when they face the Royals in the third game of this four-game series.
Wade Davis, who has allowed a total of 10 runs in the first inning of each of his last three starts, said he hopes to get through the first inning without allowing a run this time.
The Rays made a move today, placing outfielder Justin Ruggiano on the disabled list with left knee bursitis. They recalled shortstop Reid Brignac from Durham.
In related moves, Tim Beckham, the first pick in the 2008 draft, was moved from Montgomery to Durham to replace Brignac and Hak-Ju Lee was moved up from Charlotte to Montgomery to replace Beckham.
Desmond Jennings gets his first day off since he joined the team July 23.
Matt Joyce, who has reached safely in 12 of his last 13 games.
Sam Fuld replaces Jennings in left.
