Rays to hold free coaches clinic Jan.16

The Tampa Bay Rays have announced they will hold a free coaching clinic as part of the team’s youth baseball program on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at Tropicana Field.

Rays third base coach Tom Foley, pitching coach Jim Hickey, hitting coach Derek Shelton and minor league field coordinator Bill Evers will provide instruction, as will Eckerd head baseball coach Bill Mathews.

The clinic will consist of six stations, with each station including a lecture and demonstrations of techniques and drills. There will also be a question-and-answer session to end the clinic.
