Rays sign Bush, former San Diego prospect

The Rays signed former San Diego Padres prospect RHP Matt Bush to a minor league contract Thursday.
Bush, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2004 draft, had a troubled stay in the Padres organization. He was converted from shortstop to pitcher and never advanced past Class A.
He also had his share of off-field problems, as detailed in this story by the San Diego Union Tribune.
