The Rays sold the naming rights to their spring training home in Port Charlotte.

Here is the team’s release ...

The Tampa Bay Rays and The Mosaic Company announced (Wednesday) that they have agreed to terms for the naming rights to the team’s spring training ballpark in Charlotte County. The agreement provides that the field will be called Mosaic Field at Charlotte Sports Park for a 15-year period beginning immediately and expiring in 2024.

“Our first priority in considering a naming rights partner was to find a corporation with a strong presence in our region and a demonstrated commitment to local communities,” said Rays Senior Vice President/Chief Sales Officer Mark Fernandez. “The Mosaic Company has an exceptional track record of community engagement. We are very proud to be entering into this multi-faceted partnership with them.”

“This partnership builds upon Mosaic’s established relationship with the Rays and our ongoing support of community organizations in Charlotte County,” said David Townsend, Assistant Vice President-Public Affairs for Mosaic. “In addition to endorsing a terrific baseball venue, we’re especially pleased that our annual sponsorship will provide activities for families and youth from the local community and surrounding counties to enjoy at Charlotte Sports Park.”

As part of the agreement, Mosaic will sponsor a number of community events each year including a series of baseball clinics with Rays staff for youngsters from local non-profit organizations. In addition, the opening of each spring training season will be celebrated with a community event sponsored by Mosaic. The Rays new corporate partner will also serve as sponsor for annual Charlotte County Community Nights at both Mosaic Field and Tropicana Field.

Mosaic Field at Charlotte Sports Park will be branded with interior and exterior signage to include the main scoreboard, all entry points, the marquee located at the park’s main entrance off State Road 776, the top of the dugouts and at the press box level behind home plate. Mosaic’s marks would also be included in various other promotional materials.

The Rays will submit the naming rights partnership to the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners later this month.
