BOSTON - It’s over. The Rays have beat the Boston Red Sox 13-4, and they’ve taken a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
If they win Game 5 on Thursday at Fenway Park, they’ll be the American League champions and will meet either the Philadelphia Phillies or Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. Philly leads the NLCS 3-1.
Carl Crawford went 5-for-5 with a triple and three runs scored, and Willy Aybar went 4-for-5 with five RBI, as the Rays pounded out 14 hits against the Sox. Carlos Pena, Evan Longoria and Aybar hit home runs.
Andy Sonnanstine, continuing his late-season excellence, earned his second postseason victory, holding Boston to three runs (two earned) through 7 1/3 innings.

Is there anyone else that would like to see Willie Aybar learn the right field position in the offseason, sign him to a long term deal and let him play everyday? A switch hitter with power from both sides.

YES, WILLY NEEDS MORE AB’S AND MAYBE ZOBRIST TOO NEXT YR. <> ALSO YOU CAN ATLERNATE WILLY WITH GROSS OR SEE WHO EARNS THE JOB FOR RIGHTFIELD OVER AYBAR, ROCCO , GROSS OR ANOTHER GUY ? <> ALL THESE OPTIONS MAY PROVE EQUAL TO HAVING A JASON BAY. IT APPEARS THAT RUGGIANO MIGHT NOT BE READY FOR AWHILE.
