Ramon we hardly knew ya.
The Rays released relief pitcher Ramon Ramirez on Thursday, less than a month after claiming the right-hander off waivers from the Reds.
The move leaves the Rays with 39 players on the 40-man roster, meaning they can easily add a player should they make a trade at next week’s winter meetings in Indianapolis, take a player in the Rule 5 draft on Dec. 10 or need a spot on the 40-man should catcher Gregg Zaun agree to arbitration. Same with pitcher Brian Shouse, who was also offered arbitration earlier this week.
