Don’t know where this fits now that Big Mac has come clean, but if you’ve noticed more cars with Rays plates these days it’s because there are more cars with Rays plates these days.
According to a story in the Orlando Sentinel, more than 1,000 people purchased Rays specialty license plates in 2009, which, as you can guess, was a direct result of the Rays reaching the World Series in 2008. That was an 18 percent increase over 2008.
The Gators held the top spot for the fourth straight year. The Bucs, despite a dip in plates sold, still held on to the No. 10 spot.
Did you know Florida as 113 specialty license plates?
Geez.
