Baltimore native Babe Ruth swung this 36-inch long, 42-ounce club for the Yankees during the 1927 season. It’s kept in an archives vault at the Baltimore Sports Legends Museum adjacent to Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The archives aren’t open to the public, but the museum is a popular destination - as is the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum a few blocks away.

First Lady Michelle Obama participated in a first-pitch ceremony before tonight’s game.

BALTIMORE - Rays players David Price, James Shields and Sean Rodriguez, along with some Orioles players, gave a clinic earlier today to 50 kids from the local RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program and Boys and Girls clubs.
They got to meet First Lady Michelle Obama, who was on hand to announce a joint initiative between MLB, the Players Association and the White House aimed at fighting childhood obesity.
Obama also took the field moments ago with representatives from the Boys and Girls Clubs and RBI League for a ceremonial first pitch (she didn’t throw a pitch).
