Rays claim Ekstrom; sign two others

The Rays have claimed right-handed pitcher Mike Ekstrom off waivers from San Diego and added him to the 40-man roster.
Ekstrom, 26, has seen minimal action for the Padres out of the bullpen over the past two seasons. In 2009, Ekstrom logged 18 2/3 innings over 12 appearances, posting a 6.38 ERA.
Also, the Rays have signed catcher Alvin Colina and left-handed pitcher Heath Phillips to minor-league deals with invites to spring training.
