ST. PETERSBURG - The Rays made a roster move after their 11-inning, 1-0 win over the Yankees tonight. They recalled lefty reliever Jake McGee from Triple-A Durham and optioned right-hander Mike Ekstrom to Durham.
McGee, who is getting his first major league call-up, went 1-1 with one save and an 0.52 ERA in 17 1/3 innings at Durham. He gives the Rays a second lefty in the bullpen, along with Randy Choate, and he could get a chance to pitch his way onto the postseason roster, if the Rays make it.
