BOSTON No rain for Game 1 despite a dire forecast. The clouds seem to be moving out of the area, so maybe Game 2 will be dry, too.
The Rays will try to bounce back from a 3-1 loss in Game 1 with Jeff Niemann in the nightcap of this day/night doubleheader at Fenway Park.
Niemann is 6-0 in nine starts since coming off the DL.
The Rays offense was a no-show in the first game, managing only three hits – one after the first inning.
Johnny Damon, who pinched hit this afternoon, returns to the lineup.
Matt Joyce, who spent some time in Joe Maddon’s office Sunday morning talking about hitting, is back in the lineup.
