USF baseball recruits James Ramsay and Nick Gonzalez both are headed to college after being unable to agree to terms with the big-league clubs that selected them in June’s amateur draft.
Ramsay, an outfielder from Brandon, confirmed Monday that he will head to play for the Bulls. Ramsay was a 38th round selection by the New York Yankees. Leto coach J.J. Pizzio said late Sunday that Gonzalez, a left-handed pitcher, also was headed to school instead of signing with the Philadelphia Phillies, who selected him in the 30th round.
Teams have until midnight tonight to agree to terms with their draft picks.
