Plant City junior tight end/defensive end Jordan Prestwood will make an unofficial visit this weekend to Notre Dame to watch the Fighting Irish play USC, Raiders coach Jason Strunk said.
Prestwood, who likely will be one of the area’s top recruits for the Class of 2011, already holds scholarship offers from USF and Florida International. Notre Dame is among several other programs that has showed interest in the 6-foot-6, 255-pounder and recently had coaches visit Prestwood in Plant City, Strunk said. Prestwood said in an interview a few weeks ago that Notre Dame would be his top choice if the Irish offered a scholarship.
In other news, Plant City senior Raheem Billington, one of the Raiders’ top defensive backs, will make his season debut Friday against Gaither. Billington suffered a broken ankle prior to the start of the season.
