KANSAS CITY—With that triple in the first inning, his first since June 21, Carl Crawford became the first player since Hall of Famer Arky Vaughan in 1939 to record 80 triples before his 27th birthday.
Crawford has 74 triples since 2003—11 more than any other big-leaguer during that span.
