Purdue was one of the first Division I programs that pursued Jeremy Deering. The Leto senior tailback will reward that persistence by making his first official visit to the Purdue campus this weekend.

Deering’s picked a good weekend to visit with the Boilermakers. They host Notre Dame in a huge rivalry game Saturday night – one in which Deering will have an up close and personal view.
“I know what I’m looking for and I’ll know when I see it,” Deering said. “For me, it’s going to be a feel. It’s going to be a comfort level. And the coaches are a big part of it too.”
With nearly 30 Division I offers, Deering plans on taking his time making a decision. He likely will take one more official visit before his senior season is done and then will take the rest afterward. Right now, Deering’s focused on the Falcons first district game of the season at Boca Ciega on Friday night.
