Jefferson junior linebacker/tight end Ramik Wilson has picked up his first solid scholarship offer. It came Friday from Purdue, Dragons coach Mike Fenton said.
Fenton said several schools have been recruiting Wilson, who finished with 82 tackles and a team-best nine sacks in 2009, and several have made verbal offers, but Purdue is the first program willing to put it on paper. Fenton said Purdue coaches said a written offer would be sent in the coming days.
Fenton added Florida International also has jumped into the picture for Wilson, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, and could extend a written offer shortly.
Also, Fenton said Maine and Florida Atlantic have come into the recruiting picture for senior offensive lineman Garrett Wolfe, though neither program has extended an offer yet.
