Price, Verlander, Weaver finalists for AL Cy Young Award

Tampa Bay Rays left-hander David Price is one of three finalists for the American League Cy Young Award as voted by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. The winner will be announced Nov. 14.

Price is joined by Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers and Jered Weaver of the Los Angeles Angels.

Price (20-5) led the American League with a 2.56 ERA and tied Weaver the most wins with 20. Price was the runner-up in 2010 to Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners. Price’s 2012 stats:

Verlander, who won the AL Cy Young and MVP awards in 2011, was 17-8 with a 2.64 ERA. He led the league with 238 1/3 innings pitched and six complete games. Verlander’s stats:
