David Price left today’s game against the Red Sox in the bottom of the second inning after being struck on his right hand by one half of Adrian Beltre broken bat.
The bat snapped in half when Beltre hit a slow roller back at Price.
The flying piece of bat struck Price and knocked his glove off. Price went down and was quickly attended to by Rays trainer Paul Harker.
After a few moments, Price walked off the field with his hand and wrist wrapped in a white towel.
It was a scary scene, but it doesn’t appear to be serious.
Price suffered an abrasion on his right palm at the base of his thumb.
Price walked from the Red Sox dugout to the Rays dugout during the middle of the third inning. His right thumb was wrapped.
He received a nice ovation from the Red Sox fans.
