Preacher’s Super Bowl Prognosis

I have counted all the Giants rumored to be under the weather.  I’ve noticed all the Patriots players limping around in everything from ankle boots to body casts.  I took into account the fact that the Giants are considered the ‘road team’ in this game, and that bids well for them.  I notched the advantage the Patriots have in the video tape they’ve gathered from all the Giants’ practices, walk-throughs and the cameras that Bill Belichick ordered hidden in the Giants’ hotel rooms, lockers and showers.  Why, I’ve even gone through the entire sixteen game regular season to look at points spreads, points scored and points allowed.  I took Plaxico Burriss’ forecast into consideration, and Tom Brady’s laughing about it.  I even prayed the Giants’ Psalms that my friends wrote me last week (couldn’t hurt, you know?).  Do you know where I ended up?

I ended up right back where I started - with my instincts on this stuff.  Were you aware that the previous two seasons I have picked the Super Bowl Champion BEFORE the regular season even kicked off?  Yep, ‘tis true.  So I took a quick look back at my 2007 NFL PREVIEW.  Some of you have pointed out that I missed badly on a few of my division calls.  Sure I did!  Stop and think for a moment.  I forecast over 32 teams with a combined active roster of 1696 players!  You never know when an Orlando Pace or a Deuce McAllister will go down for the year in week one.  You never know when a Trent Green will get hit on the head and start seeing double.  You never know when a Michael Vick will start strangling dogs or a Pacman Jones will shoot somebody.  You never know when a Ricky Williams will spark up… okay, forget those last few, but you see where I am going.  It’s no easy task to forecast such a huge field.  But I did it.  And I did it again.  And, yes, I believe I did again all over again!

Back in July I said the New England Patriots would be the Champs.  So, there you have it.  I stand by the pick.  Patriots over Giants.  It will be over by the fourth quarter.  People can start talking about how the ‘other ‘ Manning can’t win the big game.  Tiki will be vindicated.  Somebody will interview him so he can take a few jabs at Tom Coughlin.  And all my detractors will wake up to the reality that I’ve picked the third Super Bowl Champ in a row.  You better order your copy of my 2008 NFL PREVIEW early.

As for me, I’ll bask in the glory of it for a time, celebrating the hometown Patriots 4th title in 7 seasons.  Then I’ll be back to set up the off-season for you.  It’s an NFL world, and I’m its preacher!

Speaking of Tiki, very interesting article, where he admits that he would have only dragged the team down this year:  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22957007/from/ET/

well, I guess at least he admits it!

GO GMEN!!!!

Love the new ‘giant’ math:
14-6>18-1

Sorry, but I left my brevity gene in NJ years ago when I gave up my season ticket! and moved out here.

I remember 1-12-1 and Yale Bowl years.  I remember the real good times and the real bad times.  But I am so proud of these Giants.  They played as a TEAM and after all these ups and down and years of hoping and praying, we’re back to G-MEN RULE.  Congratulations to the entire Giants organization.

Oh, Tiki who?!

Yes James, the Giants did a real number on the Pats.  Physically and emotionally as well.  My vote for the best commercial was after the game, when FedX delivered the ball from Eli to Mercury Morris.  Now, that was the perfect ending.

I am so proud of the Giants.  So much trash and negativity and they turned it around and are now Super Bowl CHAMPS.  Hopefully the Pats can get a big dose of humble pie.  Pull out of the pro bowl?  Pride is sometimes a .itch.  Now my wife is a happy camper.

Hey, your friend Dennis is pretty funny and quite poetic! Getting back to the sour grapes that started all of this.  Belichick or as I prefer Belicheat just walked away.  What a S… Never gave the Giants any credit whatsoever.  What a classless act.  He can take his smug look and arrogance and stuff it where the sun don’t shine.  And he can take Brady and Moss with him.  Snub the pro bowl?!  Just another example of their indignance and arrogance.

Hi Preacher.  Greetings again from SoCal.  so, have you heard it enuf? G-MEN RULE!!!  Talk about runnin’ down a dream.  Front page of my LATimes sports section.. headline, “Can’t win ‘em all”.  Hope all my East Coast buddies will enjoy the victory parade...maybe someone will play some Springstein song, like Glory Days.  Read somewhere....that the QB with the most yards doesn’t necessarily win, Big DAH for BIG BLUE!!!  I am so proud of my team.  Yes, G-MEN RULE.  Period.

I’m sorry Preach, you asked for it!!!  These G-Men did a real number on you and your predictions!!!!!  Have a great off season, nurse your wounds and next time, do a little more research before putting your thoughts in print!!!  A footnote, Marshall had 5 players in the Super Bowl, Bradshaw was the most notable and a true WV guy, the OTHER Marshall guy, Moss, we have not claimed him for YEARS now!!!  Randy “WHO”
G-Men Rule!!!!!!!!!!!

Weatherman,

The one thing that you forgot to take into consideration is that the Giants feed off the negitivity and perform better when everyone picks against them.

Manning can’t play the big game, huh?  Looks to me that he outplayed Brady.  And Brady didn’t stand a chance against our Giant D.  You might want to remember that when making your prediction for 2008.

Nevertheless, we forgive you for thou art not perfect (nor are the Patriots) But as for Tiki, there is no vindication for traders. Besides, I’m sure he’s much happier now talking about recipes and spring fashion on the Today show!

Dennis, you give new meaning to the term “poetic justice”.

Once again....Giants Rule!

I would like to place an advance order for your 2008 NFL Preview.  Upon receipt I will place it in its rightful place in my personal library next to the Patriot 19-0 book in the FICTION section.

Welcome back Weatherman,
I was hoping you would add that it will be partly sunny (50%) or chance of rain.  You’ll need something to get you to your post season mark of 50%.

Hey, when you read the psalm, did you mean it??
G-MEN RULE !!!
