Plant’s Martin recognized in Sports Illustrated

Plant senior volleyball player Maddie Martin was featured in the latest issue of Sports Illustrated. The 6-foot-2 All-American and Penn State recruit can be seen in the Faces in the Crowd section of the magazine.

Here’s what SI had to say about Martin, who led Plant to its fourth consecutive state title this past season:

Maddie, a senior outside hitter at Plant High, had seven kills to lead Team Red to a 3-0 win over Team White in the Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match. She was her team’s MVP. Maddie was the Gatorade player of the year in Florida and helped Plant win its fourth straight state title. She has signed to play for three-time defending NCAA champion Penn State.
