Plant’s Martin Commits To Penn State

Plant rising junior Maddie Martin, who will be one of the top volleyball players in the nation this season, has verbally committed to Penn State, her mother Gayle Sierens said on Friday.

Martin, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, helped lead Plant to its second consecutive Class 5A state title last season with 308 kills. She was named a Tribune All-Hillsborough County first-team selection and All-American by PrepVolleyball.com.

Following her sophomore season, Martin was named to the Soph 79, PrepVolleyball.com’s estimation of the top 79 sophomores in the nation.

My family and I are originally from central, PA. We’re HUGE PSU fans and our daughter plays volleyball. We followed the PSU men and women through their National Championships this year and can’t wait to root you on there next fall! Congratulations and much success in the coming years.

Good things happen to good people. The Martin’s are a Penn State type family.
Maddie will be a great addition to a great program and Coach Russ Rose is the Joe Paterno of womens college volleyball. Go PSU !!
