Plant’s Hillary Hahmann wanted to stay in the Southeast and in doing so, she’ll attend one of the most tradition-rich colleges in the South.
The senior swimmer has verbally committed to the University of Alabama. Hahmann, one of the top distance swimmers in the county, chose Alabama over South Carolina and George Washington. She will specialize in the 500, 1000 and mile events.
“I chose Alabama because it has everything I’m looking for in a school and a swim team,” Hahmann said. “I loved the way the team felt like a family and the school really felt like home.”
Hahmann will sign her scholarship offer during next month’s national signing day.
