Plant junior shortstop/pitcher Mychal Givens has received an invitation to the Aflac All-American High School Baseball Classic, Panthers coach Dennis Braun confirmed today.
The game, which will be played this summer, features the nation’s top junior baseball players. Givens is regarded as one of the nation’s top prospects for the 2009 MLB draft.
This is the third consecutive year a Hillsborough County baseball player has been selected for the game. Former Hillsborough star Michael Burgess was selected for the 2006 game, and Riverview senior Anthony Ferrara was selected for last year’s game.
