Plant High kicker/punter Chris Finn has accepted a preferred walk-on spot at Florida State.
Finn, a Tampa Tribune All-Hillsborough County Football first team selection last year, was a big weapon for the Panthers in helping them win a second-consecutive state championship.

Last sesaon, Finn was 9-for-12 on field goals with four of them over 45 yards. He was also 72% on touchbacks.
“His versatility was a huge asset for us,” Plant coach Robert Weiner said. “When you look back at the year he had for us, all of his best performances were in huge moments.”
Weiner singled out the game against Armwood where Finn’s punting helped them win the battle of field position, which Weiner said earned him the unofficial MVP honor for the game. And also his field goals in the regional final victory against Lakeland.
Because of his versatility, Weiner said Finn stands a good chance of getting on the field often for the Seminoles.
