A sore knee wasn’t about to keep Plant’s Orson Charles out of the first day of practice in pads on Thursday and it didn’t.
But the senior tight end was limited in what he could do. After tweaking his knee in a recent workout, Charles was restricted during Thursday’s practice. He’s scheduled to have an MRI today just to make sure everything is OK, but Coach Robert Weiner believes it’s just a bruise and isn’t too concerned.
“It should only be about two or three days and then I’ll be back full time,” Charles said. “I’ll be fine.”
The slight injury setback hasn’t prevented Charles from keeping his recruiting schedule on pace. He’s narrowed his list of nearly 30 Division I scholarship offers to 10 and plans on reducing the list to five before the season begins.
“I’m just going to take some time and pray about it,” Charles said. “I’m going to talk to my mom. my pastor and Coach Weiner. It’s going to be hard to get it to five.”

I’m new to the area and love your blog .. I’m curious—has any other area team started practice yet besides Plant? Thanks
