Plant wide receiver/defensive back Allen Sampson won’t be participating in Saturday’s Gasparilla festivities with his teammates, but he has a good reason. Sampson will be in Hawaii this weekend.

Sampson, the Panthers leading receiver last season, is taking an official visit to Hawaii. He’s already visited Murray State and has interest from Toledo, East Carolina and Tennessee State.

Sampson led Plant with 39 receptions for 671 yards and eight touchdowns. He also had three returns for touchdowns, averaging 11.30 yards on punt returns and 37.38 yards on kickoffs and had two interceptions.
Eric Dungy will also miss out on Gasparilla. The wide receiver/defensive back will be visiting Oregon, which recently made an offer. Dungy made an official visit to FSU last weekend. He also picked up an offer from Louisville, which joins the mix from UCF, USF and New Mexico.
Dungy led the team with five receptions and was third on the team with 24 receptions for 340 yards and two touchdowns.

Cornerback Javonte “Lockdown” Martin will be with his teammates on Saturday because he’s visiting Georgia Southern on Thursday and Friday. Martin’s already visited Murray State and also has interest from Southeast Missouri State. He led the Panthers with 23 passes defensed and was second on the team with three interceptions.
Offensive lineman Mark Brannan will be visiting Rhodes College, a Division III school outside of Memphis, this weekend. Brannan started on the line this season that helped the Panthers average 225 rushing yards per game.
