Plant City’s Patterson sidelined for now

Plant City escaped with some minor bumps and bruisess from their 19-14 loss to Hillsborough last Friday night.

Raiders coach Wayne Ward said the team is healthy in preparation for their regular-season kickoff against Strawberry Crest. Whether leading rusher Dazmond Patterson, a healthy scratch against the Terriers, is on the field is still in question.

Patterson, who was benched against Hillsborough for a violation of team rules, will be a game-time decision, Ward said.

The senior running back is expected to challenge for the county rushing title this season.
