Plant City’s McAvoy commits to Florida Gulf Coast

Plant City senior softball player Mackensie McAvoy has verbally committed to Florida Gulf Coast University, Plant City softball coach Heidi Kouveras said.
McAvoy, a second baseman and left outfielder, batted .458 with 44 hits, 27 RBIs and 21 runs scored for the Raiders last season, who went 23-7 last year and lost to Bartow in the 5A region final. She also had 14 stolen bases.
