Bucs Report
Piscitelli Practicing; Ruud Not

It appears Bucs Coach Jon Gruden is taking it light on his players today.

The Bucs are preparing for Carolina without pads or helmets today. This practice resembles more of a Friday walk through than Tampa Bay’s usual helmet and pads Wednesday practice.

Tampa Bay S Sabby Piscitelli was participating in practice and wore an arm sleeve on his right arm, but LB Barrett Ruud and WR Joey Galloway were not at practice.

Speaking of Galloway, is it just me or does it seem like his injury might be pretty severe? Coaches are waiting for Galloway to say he’s ready to go, while Galloway keeps saying ask the coaches when he might be ready to play again. Tampa Bay is usually mum when it comes to injuries, so there is no telling when we might see Galloway again.

Do you think Tampa Bay can continue to survive without Galloway?

Rudd has got to be hurt more than they are letting on and if he plays the Panthers are going to work him to see if he holds up.  Speaking of Galloway he is on the wrong side of 30 folks and it was just a matter of time before he started to decline. Time to find a replacement for the “white tiger”

All I have to say our offense is in trouble big TROUBLE If we don’t get a play maker at wide receiver we can’t wait for Galloway to heal we need a deep treat/playmaker now.  Who we going call it should be TORRY HOLT.  Bruce Allen you need to make it happen or we will never beat the elite teams in the NFL.

Paul,

There is no new news yet. Today Gruden said it was difficult to pull off a trade before the deadline, but Tampa Bay is one of the few teams that always makes a trade. We all know they are in desperate need of a playmaker, so things could get very interesting. Will update you when more information is available.

We need Sabby and Barrett to play BAD, as for the elusive 84; we need to just forget about “Tiger-gate” and focus on the fact he wont be in the line-up for a while. Not to mention his lone presence in our receiver corps won’t help the offensive penalties, and those plays we left points on the field, like we’ve been doing all ****ING! season.

Galloway had better get his ##### back in there.  My fantasy team needs him!

Any news on the trade department? I read yesterday that Tory Holt might be available. If he can be as reliable as Ike Hilliard and can still get downfield quickly, he’s probably worth a 3rd-round pick at worst. Even if he’s only got a year or two left, he’s a proven commodity. Compare him to Dexter Jackson—on whom we invested a 2nd-round pick! I think Galloway is through.

He already had shoulder surgery after last season.  He is waiting on a groin strain right now.
It would be nice to have him back, but I think QB is the main concern.  Someone better start getting the ball to the WRs and TEs better soon.  Stevens is a huge mismatch in most situations as we saw last week with the missed TD pass.  Make those throws and we’re a much better team.  The WRs could catch a little better, too, but Galloway doesn’t add much there.  I’ve watched him drop a few too many bombs over the years.

If Galloway is waiting for his injured shoulder to feel better, I have news for him, it won’t without surgery. If it is his groin or hamstring he is a malingerer or at least it is beginning to look that way.
