Let’s get one thing out of the way - I stink, I stunk, I stank. How in the world did I ever think UConn would hang within a TD of USF? UConn was severely overmatched from the outset - and except for last year’s five turnover fest at UConn - USF has completely dominated the Huskies in every game of the series. Enough about my poor 2-3 week - hey at least I correctly picked USF would make all of its field goal attempt(s) - congrats to Paul Colee, of Lakeland; Jason Cunningham, of Los Angeles; Ben Forlaw, of Gainesville; and Jeffrey Saff, of Annapolis, Md., who each went a perfect 5-0. While no one predicted the exact score, Jonathan Ruebeling’s 38-17 prediction would have been on the nose if UConn didn’t shank an extra point. With North Carolina on deck this week, here’s a hilarious video cartoon about UNC coach John Bunting from Raleigh (N.C.) News & Observer graphics editor Grey Blackwell from last year.

No, no, Brett, those of us who have been a little conservative in our optimism about the Bulls’ football abilities might be those who were dumbfounded (to put it nicely)when the Bulls lost at Connecticut last year and saw the Rutgers and Kansas games this year - both very winnable. We should beat UNC, too, but I’m going to be going back and forth on my pick for the Tarheels game. Which Bulls will show up? And how will the team chemistry be with the returning suspendees? Penalties, i.e. lack of discipline….

I’ve never been more upset about an opposing team missing a PAT. Oh well, I’m still more than thrilled about the game’s outcome.
Let’s hope Grothe can keep those feet moving against the Tar Heels next week. Who knows, maybe Ricky Ponton will get some touches this Saturday. Do you think he will start, play, or not play at all this week?

It’s very hard to win a week-to-week contest when you forget about it for several weeks!

Doug, that’s a great point. Will the returning players help/hurt chemistry? I think you could argue both sides, but we won’t know until Saturday. Jonathan, nice job again with your game prediction. Those dang kickers. Also, I should have given some props to Justin Aultman, of Zephyrhills. He predicted USF 35-16 - meaning he would have nailed it if Benzer would have missed the field goal. As far as how much the returning players will play and/or start, we will ask Coach Leavitt that question this week but I’m guessing he won’t say. Like everyone else, we’ll probably have to wait til Saturday to see if they start. However, I’m sure they’ll play a lot. Stay tuned.

re: should suspended players start this coming week.
That is a decision for the Coaches. What I really disagree with is the idea that the get to wear the jersey and sloppy pants or shorts on the sidelines in front of their team mates that are working their behinds off to have a winning year. I think that they should be banned from the field until the suspension is lifted in the future. It is a horrible example for the rest of the team.
I am a female season ticket holder since day one. And love the BULLS.
