Just because the Bulls are off this week doesn’t mean we’re taking the week off. We’ll plow ahead into this week’s picks contest with a slate of Big East games.
There are only three games involving Big East teams. The first one is Friday night at 8, so please get your picks in by then.
The fine print: Each week, pick the winner of USF’s game and other assorted predictions about USF and/or the Big East. There will be five questions weekly – each worth one point – and a three-point bonus for correctly predicting USF’s weekly ranking and a five-point bonus for correctly predicting the exact final score. So for those who participate each week, you increase your chances of winning.
To enter you must respond to the “comments” link below and answer the five questions. First and last names, hometown and a valid E-mail address are required. Your E-mail address will NOT be published and only will be used to contact the winners. The deadline for entries is usually an hour before USF’s kickoff (check below). Remember when posting your comment/picks sometimes it won’t post immediately, so be patient. Only one entry per person per week is allowed. Each week - hopefully by Monday - I will post the updated season standings. The final week of the contest is USF’s final regular season game Dec. 6. If you see a mistake in your season points total, E-mail me with the correction. The ruling of the judge - that would be me - is final.
This week’s deadline: 8 p.m., FRIDAY.
1-Will Louisville defeat Memphis by than 6 1/2 points (the game is at Memphis)?
2-Will West Virginia defeat Syracuse by more than 24 1/2 points (the game is at WVU)?
3-Will Cincinnati defeat Rutgers by more than 9 1/2 points (the game is at Cincinnati)?
4-Which Big East team will score the most points this week? Louisville, West Virginia, Syracuse, Cincinnati or Rutgers?
5-The Tampa Bay Rays play Game 2 of the American League Championship Series Saturday against Boston. Which number will be greater: number of runs AND hits combined by the Rays in Game 2 or number of points scored by Syracuse?
Bonus #1: What will No. 19 USF be ranked in next week’s AP Poll? Since I vote in the AP Poll, I will not make this prediction each week. (worth three points)
Bonus#2: Pick Cincinnati-Rutgers winner and exact score (worth five points).
