We hit five schools today for extensive photo galleries of each squad’s first day of fall football drills: Tampa Catholic, Berkeley Prep, Armwood, Plant and Jefferson. Actually, we tried to get in six schools but Plant City coach Wayne Ward had to scrub the first day’s training because of some wicked thunderstorms in eastern Hillsborough County.
TC and Berkeley staged morning practice sessions, and a photo gallery from those two district rivals can be found here: http://www2.tbo.com/photoalbum/2011/aug/08/hs-football-opening-day-2011/
If you include th photos we took from Jesuit’s time trial run Saturday morning. we’ve gone to six schools in the past three days. Several photos from the Tigers’ 12-minute run are included in the TC-Berkeley gallery.

Armwood, Plant and Jefferson, who have all won a combined six state titles since 2003, held afternon workouts. Somehow, those teams dodged the storms. Their combined photo gallery can be found here: http://www2.tbo.com/photoalbum/2011/aug/08/hs-football-opening-day-2011-part-2/
We’re going to attempt to visit as many of our 33 football playing schools as possible the next two weeks to take photos and say hello. We’re as excited about the start of the 2011 season as you probably are. If you want us to come to your school, sign up for our Twitter feed and our Facebook page. If enough of you ask/beg us, we’ll try to make a point of coming out your way for photo galleries.
