Forum: Talk Rays

BALTIMORE—Greetings from Camden Yards, where we’ve got a bit of news in the hours before David Price’s first major-league start.
Carlos Pena has been named the American League Player of the Week after hitting .368 with two doubles, three homers and 11 RBIs last week while posting a nifty .500 on-base percentage.
This is the second Player of the Week honor for Pena, who also earned those accolades the final week of the season last year. He’ll get a “luxury Swiss Torneau timepiece” in recognition of his achievement.
Pena is the third Rays player to be so honored this year. Evan Longoria (week ending June 29) and James Shields (April 28) previously earned Player of the Week recognition.

You go, Carlos! Does anyone notice how intense Carlos gets when he has a hit or a home run? He is an awesome player, and holds a place in Tampa Bays heart! Go Rays!!!!!

Nice recognition for a very class act. Congrats Carlos.
BTW, great coverage of an awesome weekend by the Trib. Saturday’s game was blacked out on Extra Innings on the west coast so it was great to see so much written about it. Go Rays!

EXCELLENTO ! CARLOS .. I REALLY LIKE HIS BATTING EYE RECENTLY <> IT MUST BE SO DIFFICULT TO TAKE THAT FULL COUNT AND GET THE BALL FOUR LIKE HE DOES NOT TO MENTION THE BASES LOADED WALKS <> RIGHT NOW THE VOTING WOULD BE CLOSE FOR TEAM MVP BETWEEN PENA AND LONGORIA.
