The Pasco football program will open up its locker room to Florida International University football coach Mario Cristobal this week.
According to Pirates coach Tom McHugh, Cristobal will be in Dade City to visit receiver Mitch Wozniak, who has verbally committed to the Division I school located in Miami. FIU, a Sunbelt Conference member, went 3-9 this season on a schedule that included, Alabama, Florida and Rutgers.
Wozniak proved a key cog in Pasco’s third consecutive district title run. He snagged 19 receptions for 352 yards and three scores, making him the third-leading receiver in the Pirates offense.
As a defensive back, Wozniak racked up 41 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and nine passes defensed. This was Wozniak’s first season on the Pasco football team after playing three seasons for Wesley Chapel.
