It’s not really a send off, nor a pep rally. More like a final practice walk through open to the public.

Pasco High will hold an open practice/pep rally/send off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, throwing a celebration for its football team and coaches in W.F. Edwards Stadium and the general public is more than welcome to attend. The rally will be less than 24 hours before the Pirates (13-0) leave at 11 a.m. on their charter buses to travel 243 miles to Crawfordville Wakulla to play in the Class 5A state semifinal at 7:30 p.m.

Pasco faces Wakulla (11-2) in its second state semifinal in the past four seasons, though the Pirates hosted the state semifinal back in 2008, eventually falling to Tallahassee Godby 28-14.

In addition, some parents have organized four fan buses that will leave from the school at 12:30 p.m. Friday.  Seats cost $25 per rider for the round trip, while buyers will still have to purchase a $9 game ticket at the gate. Tickets can be purchased at two locations: Centennial Middle School or Something Special, a store located at 14106 7th Avenue in downtown Dade City. For more information, contact Christy Mitchell at Centennial at (352) 524-9700 or call Something Special at (352) 437-5907.

For more information on Thursday’s event, contact Pasco at (352) 521-5500.
