There’s a chance junior Jamie Byrd may not have to switch from the red, black and white uniform colors of Pasco High when he graduates in 2011. The versatile linebacker/safety will take a trip to the University of Georgia this weekend, according to Pirates coach Tom McHugh.

Byrd, who opened the season at safety and eventually moved back to his original position of linebacker, has led the Pirates in tackles the past two seasons.
As a sophomore starter, Byrd collected 83 tackles, two interceptions and one half sack. This past season, Byrd had 129 tackles, six sacks, four fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles.

Meanwhile, Pasco receiver Chaise Dunn postponed his visit to FAMU until this weekend. He was supposed to make the trip to Tallahassee last weekend with Pirates QB D.J. Clower.
Dunn caught a team-high 25 passes for 358 yards and two scores. As a defensive back, he collected 19 tackles, defended three passes and snared one interception.
